Mangaluru Eye approved as a 200-metre tourism and commercial landmark

A new PPP-led tower proposal could add a 200-metre observation and hospitality landmark to Mangaluru’s skyline.

Mangaluru Eye approved as a 200-metre tourism and commercial landmark

Mangaluru is set to study a new vertical landmark after the Karnataka government cleared the proposed ‘Mangaluru Eye’, a 200-metre commercial and tourism tower planned under a public-private partnership model. The proposal is expected to use viability-gap funding, indicating that the project is still at a development and structuring stage rather than at construction completion.

According to the project outline reported locally, the tower is planned with community halls, a revolving restaurant and a two-level observation gallery offering panoramic views of the city and coast. For the built-environment sector, the project is significant because it would combine high-rise structural engineering, vertical transportation, hospitality design, public viewing infrastructure and commercial programming in one scheme.

NELĀ 247 will track the project as details emerge on site, developer selection, design consultants, statutory approvals, procurement and construction timelines.
